Free photography quotation template with a working editor, live totals and PDF, Word or Excel downloads.

Photography pricing is really pricing usage. This template separates the shoot, the edit and the licence so a client asking for more rights sees the cost of them.

Pricing, pitfalls and proof

  • How it is pricedPrice the shoot, retouching per image and the usage licence separately.
  • Common mistakeGranting unlimited usage inside the shoot fee; extending it later looks like a penalty.
  • Keep as evidenceRecord the shot list, the delivery date and the licence scope.

Questions about this template

Should the licence be a separate line?

Yes. It is the part clients most often assume is unlimited, and separating it makes an extension a simple conversation.

How many images should I include?

State a number. 'All usable images' is open-ended and will be interpreted differently by each client.

Who owns the copyright?

The photographer usually retains copyright and grants a licence. Say so in the terms so the scope is clear.

Can I charge for travel?

Yes, as a line with the mileage or the flat fee. It is easier to defend when it appears before the shoot rather than on the invoice.
